About Us

Brooks Brothers has been shaping American style for more than two centuries. Founded in New York in 1818, the brand built its reputation around craftsmanship, quality and innovation, developing timeless wardrobe essentials that continue to evolve with each generation. Today, Brooks Brothers remains closely associated with polished American dressing while offering a broader lifestyle collection for men, women and children.

The brand's shirt heritage is particularly distinctive. In 1900, Brooks Brothers introduced its Original Polo® Button-Down collar after John Brooks was inspired by the collars worn by polo players. More than a century later, button-down shirts remain a defining part of the collection, alongside Supima® cotton dress shirts, non-iron styles, Oxford shirts, sport shirts and polos.

Tailoring is another important part of the Brooks Brothers wardrobe. The 1818 Collection offers traditionally crafted suits using Italian-woven fabrics and half-canvas construction, while the Explorer Collection combines tailored silhouettes with lightweight, wrinkle-resistant and water-repellent performance fabrics. Beyond suits, the collection includes blazers, dress pants, chinos, sweaters, coats, jackets, ties and accessories.

Modern Brooks Brothers also extends well beyond traditional menswear. Women's collections include shirts, sweaters, jackets, dresses, occasionwear, pants and tailored pieces, while boys' clothing brings classic American styling to younger wardrobes. The current Fall/Winter 2026 collection under Creative Director Michael Bastian combines softly constructed tailoring with sophisticated sportswear, showing how the brand continues to reinterpret its heritage for contemporary life.
